We collect discarded clothing in Iraq, transform it into new products through a team of young home-based tailors, and keep it out of landfill.
Your solution
Shax collects donated and pre-owned garments from communities across Erbil, then distributes them to a network of young tailors and women who work from home, transforming them into bags, vests, accessories, and other products. These are sold directly to consumers and institutions — including government bodies and NGOs — or donated to communities in need. We also provide textile waste data collection and environmental research as a growing service arm, generating the first local evidence base on textile waste's impact in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
