We develop sustainable technology to transform citrus peels into pectin and other valuable products for industrial use. -
Your solution
PectiNile is developing an Egyptian technology to extract pectin from citrus peels transforming food-processing waste into valuable industrial raw materials. We have conducted preliminary manual extraction experiments and obtained a pectin-containing material. We are now developing a scalable extraction process and industrial production line to serve food manufacturers and other potential industrial customers. Our future plans include exploring pectin-based biodegradable packaging and food coatings that may help extend the shelf life of fresh produce, as well as sustainable uses for residual biomass, including organic composting. Ourgoal is to reduce waste,create local industrial value, and support a circular bioeconomy in Egypt.
