Life of granny

She was born with nothing.
When she was still a little girl, she lost both of her parents. Too young to understand death, but old enough to feel the emptiness it left behind. While other children ran home into warm arms, she learned how to survive on her own. She grew up poor, wearing old clothes, eating whatever she could find, and carrying sadness quietly inside her heart.
But somehow, life made her strong instead of bitter.
She grew up, got married, and became a mother to six children. Life was never easy. There were days without enough rice, nights when she stayed awake worrying about tomorrow, and years filled with endless sacrifice. She worked through exhaustion, sickness, and heartbreak just to keep her family together.
Then came the pain no mother should ever have to face.
She lost one of her children.
That pain never left her. Even when she smiled, part of her heart stayed broken forever. But she kept going, because the rest of her children still needed her. She carried grief silently and continued cooking meals, washing clothes, saving every small coin, and loving her family the only way she knew how — completely.
As she grew older, her love only became softer. granny
She became the kind of grandmother every child remembers forever. She always waited for her grandchildren to come home. She would ask if we had eaten yet, tell us to wear warmer clothes, and somehow still worry about us even when her own body was tired.
And no matter how old I got, she always slipped money into my hand.
“Go buy something to eat,” she would say.
Sometimes it was only a small amount, but it never felt small. It was love. The kind of love only grandmothers know how to give — quiet, unconditional, asking for nothing back.
Even near the end of her life, she was still thinking about family before herself.
Before she passed away, she waited for me to come back from traveling so she could see me one last time. As if her heart could not leave peacefully until she saw me again. She held on just long enough for that final goodbye.
And after that, she let go.
Now she is gone, but her love still remains everywhere. In the memories, in the small acts of care, in every meal shared with family, and in every moment I remember her hands placing money into mine.
She lived a hard life. A very painful life.
But she gave love until her very last breath.
